The float is vertically installed in a tapered measuring tube, where it can move freely up and down due to the action of the fluid. The outer edge diameter of the float and the annular area formed with the tapered tube vary with the float's position. When the fluid flow stabilizes at a certain value, the float reaches a dynamic equilibrium at a specific position, and the annular area between the float and the tapered tube remains constant. At this point, the float is subjected to three forces: the downward weight of the float, the upward buoyant force, and the dynamic force of the fluid, which achieve balance. Based on Bernoulli's equation in fluid dynamics, the force balance equation, and the continuity theorem of fluids, the average instantaneous flow rate of the fluid through the annular area can be calculated.
